The Battle of Verdun was the most destructive and longest battle of World War I. It lasted from February 21 to December 19, 1916, and was fought by the Germans and the French.
Over 100 German and French divisions were deployed, with more than 250,000 dead and more than 500,000 wounded on both sides. It was second only to the Battle of the Somme in terms of casualties, and was known as the “Verdun Gauntlet”.
Scents
The idea behind the design is to use the military style candle and the scent of the perfumer's three world wars to create a scent that will be used in the battle of Verdun and in the battle of the Somme.
By using the candle as a medium, we wanted to associate the scent of the candle with the devastation caused by war.
